Cancelling your health insurance policy can be a bit of a hassle…

But here are some tips to help you get started.  As always, we are happy to help whenever we can!

To cancel your policy through the market place, first, log onto your account. Click on “Visit the

Marketplace for Individuals and Families” and select the application you want to end coverage

on. Then select “My Plans & Programs” and scroll down to and select the red button titled “End

All Coverage”. You’ll have to select an effective date that’s at least 14 days from the current

date. Choose wisely. Click on the red “Terminate Coverage” button.

Unfortunately, the process isn’t that cut and dry for every situation. If you are trying end

coverage for only some people, then the “basic” steps will be a little different. You can find all

the answers to more specific situations at https://www.healthcare.gov/reporting-changes/cancel-

plan/ or you can contact the Marketplace Call Center.
