Here at the Health Insurance Specialists we are sincerely concerned about the health and safety of our clients. In efforts to relieve any concerns regarding your health insurance coverage, here is information on how your insurance covers COVID-19.

What is covered?

These benefits may only apply through June 30, depending on your carrier.

Prescriptions:

  • When your 30-day medication is 60% finished, call the pharmacy for a refill request. Regular copay/coinsurance is still required. This early refill option does not apply to opioids. If you’re on Medicare (SelectHealth Advantage), early refills are also an option at your standard copay.
  • These early prescription refills may only be available on a case-by-case basis by working through your local pharmacy.

Is your child or family member on CHIP or Medicaid?

Testing and treatment for COVID-19 is covered as an emergency service and can be received from in- and out-of-network providers. No copay is required.

*If you have a plan through the Marketplace and can not pay your premium, there is a 90 day grace period for late payments.
