Open enrollment for Individual Health Plans is coming up: November 15th through February 15th. As we are aware, every year our Health Insurance Premium increases. It is a good idea to review how much your premiums will increase for 2015 and to shop around and find the right plan for you that can save you money.

“According to an analysis by PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC), 29 states and the District of Columbia have released initial rate filing information as of this month. The average rate increase is 8.2%, with an average monthly premium around $385.” See: http://www.zanebenefits.com/blog/a-first-look-at-individual-health-insurance-rates-for-2015?

We are going to see that on average premiums will increase 8.2%. If you have not yet contacted your broker to find out how much your premium is going to increase, now would be a good time. Major carriers such as Assurant, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, and United Healthcare are increasing their presence on the marketplace so there will be many more competing rates to choose from.

Here at the Health Insurance Specialists, we are looking forward to reviewing our clients policies and finding a better plan during open enrollment that meets their needs. We would be happy to set up a time (free of charge to you) when we can discuss your options.
