If you have a doctor and you want to make sure that your insurance carrier covers that doctor, you can go onto the carriers’ website.  You will see that they have a tab that you can click on that will say “find a doctor” or “find a provider.” After clicking on that, you can type in your doctor’s name and see if they are on there.  You can usually also in the same place type in a hospital or clinic and see if that is covered by that carrier as well.

For example if you go on Humana’s web page right on the main page they have a place that says “find a doctor” and it says that you can also look up doctor, hospital, dentist, vision provider, and pharmacy.  For Select Health there is a tab on the top of their main page that says “find a doctor.”  For Altius there is a “services and support” tab on the top of the main page and on that tab you can choose member or provider, etc.  If you click on “member” it will bring up a new page and on the right hand side it has a tab that says “find a doctor.”  For Arches on their main page on the top it has a “find a provider” tab.  If you’re still not sure, you can also call the carrier directly and one of their customer service representatives should be able to help you.
